About BIBV
This 4th edition of the data base BIBV contains bibliographical information on 3511 documents (1st edition in 1989 by ASTRA service, 2nd and 3rd edition in 1993 and 1995 on WAIS folder of Italian data bases).

The Information Retrieval System used to map the data base is ISIS STAIR/CMS distributed by UNESCO.

BIBV is distributed on INTERNET by a server located at the C.N.R.-CNUCE Institute of Pisa.

The data base has been created with the contribution of the following persons and institutions that we have the pleasure to acknowledge:
  • Guya Vallerini (Intecs Sistemi, Pisa), who dial the first steps of data entry:
  • Sonia Calvari (Istituto Internazionale di Vulcanologia, CNR - Catania) and Luca Ferrari (Dipartimento di Scienze della Terra, Università di Milano), who collected information on a great number of documents on Etna activity;
  • Luigina Vezzoli (Dipartimento di Scienze della Terra, Università di Milano). She provided the titles on the historic activity of the Island of Ischia and Mt. Etna and revised and incremented the set of keywords;
  • The library of the Museo Civico di Storia Naturale di Milano, of the Museo di Storia della Scienza di Firenze and the Osservatorio Vesuviano that made available their card catalogues.
